Excellent sandwiches and food in a place you'd never suspect. If you're nearby and looking for great food and nice service, go here. It feels like you're in SF or NYC and the owner is super nice and cool.

I come back over and over because the food is outstanding. The only downside is the wait can be a bit if you come at lunch rush and the owner can be a bit abrasive. But, the employees are always awesome, helpful and the food is the best sandwich in town. I recommend the Sante Fe Turkey for a unique bite. Or, the cider brisket for a more traditional tingle on the taste buds. Expect a little pricy but know it's worth it. Every. Bite.

Very good freshly made food. I love the bread and the cupcakes too! It was a good idea for the new owners to use the same vendors and menus that have been tried and true for so many faithful patrons . Lunch is busy because it is quality worth coming back to!

I used to come here for lunch a few times a week. Now I've been here only a few times with the new ownership. They have plenty of employees, but long wait because they have the one cashier taking orders, getting counter food together, and running the register. Food still good. But it will take a full hour if your coming in for lunch.

So good we are going a second time as we drive through Grand Junction. The portions are worth the money, which I don't think is overly priced for Boars Head. The little restaurant is clean, has great customer service, and serves your order in a timely manner. My husband had the Italian sandwich and really enjoyed it (he's particular with his Italians). I got the roasted turkey and the bread made the sandwich even better. My daughter loved her BLT and the chicken noodle soup was seasoned well and hearty. This restaurant earned all 5 stars.

The deli recently changed hands, and while the menu is basically the same, the bread vendor most definitely is NOT the same, and for me, that's 75% of the sandwich. Too bad, this was a weekly favorite for lunch.

Just finished eating the Little Italy sandwich which was very good. All the sandwiches look great. Next time I will sub a soup for the chips.

It's a tad pricey for what you get but it's quality food. Get there early or you'll be waiting. Seating is sparse as well. The have Zoltar :) All an all good lunch spot for a sandwich and a salad. Every thing is made to order to be prepared to wait.

My husband and I have been regulars here for several years - and I'm sorry to say they're almost certainly under new ownership. No one looked familiar (the owner and his crew were ALWAYS there before), the interior has changed, and most importantly, the food is not nearly as good. My chicken salad sandwich was mediocre; the old, great, flavorful chicken-salad recipe is gone, and so is the super-thick, fresh rye bread (replaced by thin, slightly dry rye). The price of my Dad's Reuben sandwich was the same, yet it was half its normal size. So disappointing! I just read JN's report from 9/11 -- completely agree.

Great sandwiches (Boars Head meat and cheese!) soups, salads and sides. The cookies are also great. Packed at lunch so call ahead and they will have it ready!

Had Randy's Rueben today..highly recommend it. The corned beef on it was outstanding.

Decent sandwich shop. Kind of pricey for what you get, but still pretty good. They use Boars Head meat, which is typically a good sign, and their proportions are full. The B.L.A.T. I got from them was rather tasty. I asked for it w/o mayo, and it just tasted crisp and fresh with great fluffy bread. But, the last sandwich I got from them was drenched in mustard. It might have been a new girl working, or someone who thinks mustard ='s life blood, as it just doesn't make sense to soak each side of bread (through to the other side), with mustard. It was literally suspended in it. Turkey and Muenster, frozen in mustard's pungent time/space continuum. They have several sandwiches to choose from, but aren't apposed to change them to what you want. I have a feeling it was just 'one of those days' for my mustard situation, and I hear pretty consistent stories from folks who eat there almost daily. Place is only open for lunch and is typically filled with working professionals. It makes for kind of a nice dining ambiance, taking business with pleasure in your deli dish.

Best deli in the valley! The New York New York is deadly!

This is the only real deli type place in Grand Junction that I know about, and it is good. I always get the chicken salad sandwich. The food is always sooo fresh and looks great. The prices are a little high but you pay for what you get. Also a big perk for me is they sell YooHoo!

Always solid. Use them for catering and eat here when I travel to GJ. Price is great for that you get...I would much rather spend $7 on a great sandwich vs $5 on a chain sandwich with plastic meat. As a native New Yorker this deli is a great choice!
